Dear Birth Parents,
Thank you for considering us as a possibility of becoming parents to your baby. While we don’t pretend to understand even a fraction of what you are going through we appreciate your example of love and kindness. It is with this same love and kindness that we wish to share with you a glimpse into our lives and we hope that by doing so you will feel comfortable sharing a part of yourself with us.

~How it all started~
Dan and I met at a dance when we were 16 and 17 through his cousin, coincidently, my best friend. He asked her to introduce him to the “girl with the long blond hair.” Soon after we had met I did something out of character. Acting on a bet from his best friend I approached Dan and his girlfriend at the time and asked to “cut in” on their dance! It worked and although we didn’t dance that song we had a good laugh and began to date shortly after.
We dated throughout High School and attended College. Though he hadn’t proposed marriage yet, I turned down 2 other proposals and went on a mission to North Carolina while he was on his mission to Venezuela because I knew he was the one for me. It took him a little longer to figure out and within six months of being home from his mission he got it and we were married 6 weeks later. Three and a half years later we had Benjamin and with this addition we have turned our marriage into a family.
If I had to describe the family environment we have created in one word that word would be real. Like all other families we are not perfect and we go through real trials but we are willing to learn from our mistakes and we have become a better family through them. One thing remains through the trials and that is our love for one another. We are truly committed to becoming an eternal family. We love to spend time together and can often be found enjoying the outdoors, hiking, camping, biking, gardening, and playing with our dog Nelly (a small cocker spaniel mixed with poodle).

~ Angela ~
Angela is one of the best examples of service I know. She is extremely attentive to the needs of those who surround her and receives her greatest joy helping others. As a result she easily makes friends and is often the first person her friends and acquaintances turn to for help.
Very early in life Angela made the decision that if she was to become a mother she would dedicate her life to the responsibility. When Benjamin came into our lives she put her personal interests on hold and hasn’t looked back once. Simply put, she loves being a mother and right now Benjamin is her life. Angela is passionate about life and enjoys using her time teaching our son, planting and tending to her garden and flowers, reading, baking yummy treats, and making healthy dinners. She is a wonderful mother and I am amazed at the special bond she has created with our son.

~ Dan ~
Dan is a great father and a loving husband. He loves to play and get imaginative on the floor with Benji and his friends. Sometimes they play “bucking bronco.” Dan gets down on all fours and tries to buck Benji off his back until he says the magic words “Hi-ho Silver” except for some reason he can’t get the phrase right. He mixes up the words and we all end up rolling on the floor laughing. Dan also has a great ability to teach children on their level while making it fun. He recently taught Benji to hold his breath and go under the water in the pool even though Benji had refused to do so in his swimming lesson.
Dan is an accomplished musician and grew up playing guitar and piano, and in fact played guitar in rock bands all through high school and college. Dan is the optimistic visionary and I am the detail oriented realist. He can see the end results and drives toward it often without thinking of the steps along the way. He is good at lightening the mood with little jokes and when presented with a task he is not afraid to get down and give it his all.

~ Benjamin ~
~ Benjamin ~
Benji, as we call him, is everything you want in a little boy. On one hand he is intelligent and curious which sometimes gets him into trouble. For example, recently he made “mud pies” and threw them at the house with a few actually making it inside an open door! On the other hand he has a heart of gold and is very sensitive to the feelings of those around him and particularly to those of his Mother. A few nights ago he woke up in the middle of the night and walked into our room and leaned over and kissed Angela on the cheek before crawling into bed between us. All-in-all he is a great kid and is very excited for the opportunity to have a brother or sister.
Benji has a happy disposition and has a very fun, silly, sweet and very active personality. Like most 4 year old boys he lives to play…playing with friends and family, playing at the park with his dog, playing hide-n-seek, playing baseball, and playing with toys. Dinosaurs are currently his favorite. He loves to pretend to feed the “baby dinosaurs” with imaginary bottles made of Lego’s.
~Words from Benji (4 years old.)~
“I like it when our family makes Macaroni & Cheese, eats suckers, and plays dinosaurs. I love that we can color together and have some time alone. Thank you for helping us have a baby, a brother or a sister. I want to be the big brother!!! I want to tell you my favorite dinosaur’s names: Sarah, Big Al, T-Rex sharp tooth, and Rascal-D my raccoon.”
